Our Charcoal Acne Face Soap is lovingly handcrafted with acne-prone skin in mind. Full of anti-inflammatory powerhouses, this bar is made to remove impurities and gently exfoliate without being harsh or drying. Whether your acne is inflammatory, fungal, hormonal, or oily by nature, this bar has wonderful benefits to balance and clear your complexion.

Pure ingredients (with EO): Tallow, olive oil, neem oil, castor oil, coconut oil, raw honey, lye*, activated charcoal, 1% zinc oxide, kaolin clay, colloidal oats, lemongrass essential oil, lavender essential oil, tea tree essential oil

Pure ingredients (EO-free): Tallow, olive oil, neem oil, castor oil, coconut oil, raw honey, lye*, activated charcoal, 1% zinc oxide, kaolin clay, colloidal oats

*lye is needed to saponify the oils, which are then cured for an extended time so that no lye is in the final product.

The Star Ingredients

 Tallow is deeply nourishing and moisturizing. The fatty acids in tallow are much closer in molecular structure to the oils our own skin produces than the more commonly used plant oils. In addition, tallow is extremely rich in the same kinds of lipids present in youthful, vibrant skin. Being chock full of vitamins A, D, E, & K doesn't hurt either! 

Olive oil is a non-comedogenic oil, great for the oil cleansing method, which is a natural method of removing dirt and oils from the skin. It is a humectant, working to draw in and hold moisture in the skin's barrier.

Castor oil has antibacterial properties, and helps to reduce puffiness, fine lines, and dryness. 

Coconut oil can aid in reducing inflammation, keeping skin moisturized and helping heal wounds. The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria.

Activated Charcoal absorbs oil and toxins in the pores, drawing out dirt and impurities and cleansing them away. It's also anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, helping to reduce acne and prevent new spots from forming. Charcoal helps leave you with clearer skin, smaller pores, and less oil.

Neem oil has antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory benefits that can help to reduce acne. Applying neem helps to fight free radicals and inflammation that bog your skin down, while healing redness and blemishes.

Zinc Oxide helps to address redness, irritation, and inflammation caused by conditions like acne, rosacea, and seborrheic dermatitis. 

Kaolin clay absorbs excess oil from your skin’s surface, keeping your pores unclogged without being too drying or upsetting your natural oil balance. A gentle yet powerful exfoliant, kaolin clay draws out impurities, reduces redness, and helps even out the skin tone.

Raw honey has antibacterial and soothing properties that make it a skin healing powerhouse. It reduces redness, and encourages regeneration and repair. 

Colloidal oats work as a gentle cleanser and exfoliator, soaking up excess oil that typically clogs pores. Combined with its ability to reduce inflammation and kill bacteria, colloidal oatmeal is very soothing and beneficial for acne, eczema, and psoriasis. 

Lemongrass oil (EO version) is a natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent used on the face to treat acne, psoriasis, and other skin conditions.

Lavender oil (EO version) is calming to the mind and lovely for the skin! This oil helps reduce redness and inflammation. Its antibacterial properties help get deep within the pores and target acne from the inside out.

Tea Tree Oil (EO version) can be applied topically to improve conditions and symptoms that affect the skin, such as acne. It soothes dry skin and eczema, combats oily skin, reduces irritation and inflammation, and soothes wounds, cuts, and infections.
