The Benefits of Oil Cleansing

Oil? On your face? Absurd, you say! But we're here to share with you that oil cleansing is one of the best methods for removing dirt, excess oil, and impurities from your complexion. So, how does it work?

Oils are lipophilic, meaning they're naturally attracted to other oils, including the sebum our skin produces and the oil-like ingredients in makeup. This is what allows the oils in a cleansing oil to dissolve makeup and excess sebum, all while softening your skin.

Oil Cleansing:

• lifts excess sebum
• cleans out clogged pores
• removes dead skin, pollutants, and makeup
• helps restore and protect the skin's barrier
• does not involve harsh, drying alcohols or chemicals
• beneficial for both dry and oily types 

How to oil cleanse: work your oil-based cleanser in your skin in circular motions, gently cleansing your pores and massaging the skin. For an exfoliating wash, we love Blue Emu Scrub. For a silky smooth feel, try this Raw Honey Face Wash. After massaging for a minute or two, take your beauty cloth and get it nice and steamy with warm water. Wring it out slightly, then place on your face and gently wipe away the oil based cleanser. 

Care: Machine washable. The cloth is not pre-washed, so expect some shrinkage.
