About Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is made up of the fossilized remains of microscopic shells created by one-celled aquatic plants (diatoms). Over the eons, as these diatoms fossilized, they retained their tubular shape and holes. Their shape and hardness produces extremely pure and consistent DE. One of the highest natural sources of silica, it consists of 85-92% silicon dioxide and other trace minerals. 

Often used topically in homes and gardens for pest control, diatomaceous earth is also completely safe for humans and animals to ingest, so long as it is a food-grade source.

How to use: Take about 1 tsp of this food-grade DE with water once a day. It is best used on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating. Drink an additional cup of water after each dose of DE for maximum effectiveness, and be sure to stay well-hydrated in general. Increase your dosage slowly over several weeks, working up from 1 tsp to 2 tsp. The maximum recommended daily dosage is 1 Tbsp. If you increase your intake beyond 1 tsp, split the dosage to take some in the morning and some in the evening. Take DE in this manner for 10 days on and 10 days off for no more than 90 days to give your body plenty of time to adjust and take breaks. Don't use consistently for very long periods of time; instead, cleanse as needed.
