Golden Hour Oil Cleanse

Start with a dry face and dry hands. Pump a small amount of Golden Hour Oil Cleanse into your palms and gently massage it over your face for about 30–60 seconds. Take your time around areas with makeup, sunscreen, or extra buildup.

Wet a clean washcloth with warm water, wring it out, and lay it over your face for a few seconds. Then gently wipe away the oil along with the makeup, sunscreen, excess sebum, and buildup it has dissolved. Rinse the cloth and repeat as needed until your skin feels clean.

Pat your skin dry or leave it slightly damp, then follow with your favorite hydrosol and face serum. For extra moisture, finish with Golden Hour Antioxidant Balm.

Use in the evening as your daily cleanser or anytime you need to remove makeup and sunscreen.

Tip: There is no need to scrub. Let the oil and warm cloth do the work.

Organic Castor Oil | Naturally rich in ricinoleic acid, castor oil has a thick texture and strong cleansing ability that makes it particularly useful for the oil cleansing method. It helps loosen and lift makeup, sunscreen, excess sebum, and daily buildup so they can be removed with a warm cloth.

Golden Jojoba Oil | Technically a liquid wax ester rather than a traditional oil, jojoba closely resembles components of the skin's natural sebum. It helps dissolve oil-soluble buildup while conditioning the skin, balancing the stronger cleansing feel of castor oil.

Pastured Egg Yolks | Naturally rich in lipids and fatty acids that help condition and soften the skin. We gather eggs from our own pastured flock, freeze-dry the yolks, and slowly infuse them into golden jojoba.

Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil | Its naturally vivid orange-red color comes from its concentration of carotenoids. Sea buckthorn also contains tocopherols, phytosterols, and fatty acids that provide antioxidant and conditioning benefits for dry or stressed skin.

Sugarcane Squalane | A lightweight, stable emollient that helps soften the skin and reduce moisture loss without leaving an overly heavy finish. It helps make Golden Hour cleansing without feeling stripping.

Calendula Flower | Slowly infused into our jojoba for its skin-conditioning botanical compounds. Calendula has a long history of topical use for dry, sensitive, and irritated skin.

Hibiscus Flower | Naturally contains polyphenols and other antioxidant compounds that help protect against oxidative stress while supporting the skin's overall appearance.

Turmeric Root | Naturally rich in curcuminoids and other antioxidant compounds. We infuse whole turmeric root directly into the jojoba as part of Golden Hour's botanical blend.

Frankincense Resin | A traditional aromatic resin containing naturally occurring terpenes and other plant compounds. We infuse the whole resin into the oil rather than using frankincense essential oil.

Vitamin E | A lipid-soluble antioxidant that helps protect skin lipids from oxidative stress while conditioning the skin. It also helps support the oxidative stability of the oils in the formula.

Essential Oil-Free | Golden Hour Oil Cleanse gets its botanical benefits from whole-herb and resin infusions rather than essential oils, making it a great option for people who prefer essential oil-free facial care.

Why cleanse with oil?

Your skin naturally produces oil, and oil-soluble makeup, sunscreen, sebum, and grime don't always need a foaming cleanser to remove them. Oil cleansing works by massaging cleansing oils into dry skin to help dissolve and lift that buildup before wiping it away with a warm, damp cloth.

The part we really love is what happens afterward: your face feels clean, but it doesn't have that squeaky-clean, tight feeling that can come from over-cleansing.

We built Golden Hour around castor and jojoba for cleansing, then added ingredients we'd actually want left behind on our skin: our own pastured egg yolks, sea buckthorn, squalane, calendula, hibiscus, turmeric, frankincense resin, and vitamin E.

It's cleansing and skincare in the same bottle, and it's especially good if traditional cleansers tend to leave your skin feeling dry or stripped.
