Choose your own gut-health adventure. With home-brewed kombucha, the flavor options are truly endless! This Dehydrated Kombucha Starter is the perfect beginning to affordable, continuous Kombucha fermentation right at home. The live cultures are shipped in a dehydrated state, so it can stay on your shelf until you are ready to get started!

Includes:

  • 1 dehydrated kombucha starter culture (SCOBY)
  • 5 pH strips (to keep the good bacteria thriving during fermentation)
  •

Basic Instructions: After rehydrating the SCOBY, simply add the kombucha starter to sweet tea and ferment away to make your very own healthy, zingy kombucha.  Rehydrating the SCOBY takes about 4 weeks and allows those new to kombucha brewing to get the process underway. When your dehydrated SCOBY arrives, you do not have to get started right away - simply store in the refrigerator until you’re ready to go! A dehydrated SCOBY is a great addition to any larder or canned goods storage.

More detailed instructions are included with the SCOBY.

Kombucha Starter Culture Ingredients: Organic sugar, organic black tea, dehydrated live cultures

    Brand Story

Cultures for Health was founded upon the pursuit of sustainable living and a deeper understanding of traditionally prepared foods that are extremely nourishing. In seeking to achieve a better understanding of the connections between how food is produced and prepared and the benefits it provides, their passion for cultured and fermented foods was born. Cultures for Health believes everyone’s life can be improved by adding more homemade probiotics from cultured and fermented foods to their diet. There’s nothing quite like fresh-baked sourdough or bubbly kombucha made entirely from scratch. The Urban Farm Collection family is full of born-again believers in the value and importance of fermented foods. We hope you enjoy Cultures for Health’s offerings that we are so happy to stock and stand behind!
